8-Day Guided Birding Tour Package 7/10-7/17

In addition to our flexible-scheduled year-round private day tours, we offer very small group hiking and nature tour packages that are 8 days and 7 nights.

We'll visit the highlights of a vacation to Olympic National Park while focusing on a shared passion for birds.

Each tour will have no more than five participants who will be prioritized by the date an expression of interest form is received. 

We will have a chance at hearing and ideally viewing up to 132 species of birds at this time of year. Northwest bird species that we will seek out include Tufted Puffin, Marbled Murrelet, Heermann’s Gull, Short-billed Gull, Black Oystercatcher, Western Sandpiper, Sooty Grouse, Band-tailed Pigeon, Rufous Hummingbird, Black Swift, Violet-Green Swallow, Red-breasted Sapsucker, Hammond’s Flycatcher, American Dipper, Chestnut-backed Chickadee, Pacific Wren, Black-throated Gray Warbler, and many more. Mountain wildflowers will be at their peak bloom. We will learn about the Makah people and experience why their home in Neah Bay encompasses some of the best birding in the state of Washington. 

July 10 – Arrival to Port Angeles (transportation from the Seattle Airport). Red Lion Port Angeles

July 11 – Hurricane Ridge, Elwha River Restoration, and Madison Falls. Red Lion Port Angeles

July 12 – Dungeness River & Spit and Railroad Bridge Park. Red Lion Port Angeles

July 13 – Ediz Hook, Fish Hatchery, Port Townsend, & Puffin Cruise. Red Lion Port Angeles

July 14 – La Push beaches, Quillayute River estuary, and Lake Crescent. Red Lion Port Angeles

July 15 – Hoh Rainforest, Neah Bay Makah Museum, and Cape Flattery. Butler’s Motel Neah Bay

July 16 – Hobuck Beach, Makah Passage Road, and Neah Bay town and bay. Butler’s Motel Neah Bay

July 17 – Salish Sea Tidepooling & Birding, Departure on the 12:30 PM Strait Shot (Clallam Transit)

Experience Olympic hiking and nature tours start and end in Port Angeles, Washington (accessible without needing to rent a car).
Cost is $2,900 per person, based on double occupancy ($4,200 single).
Cost includes accommodations, transportation, entrance & museum fees, Tufted Puffin Boat Trip, and guide service.
Cost does not include food costs, trip insurance, and travel to and from Port Angeles on the day the tour starts and ends. We will help you organize your own private or public transportation to/from Seattle, WA.
