Our June Northwest Wildflower Tour is geared toward general nature enthusiasts who want to enjoy the beauty of spring in the Pacific Northwest from the coast to the mountains. Although the Pacific Northwest is known for rainfall, April to June is a time of transition from our rainy season to our dry summer season. Almost all our lowland wildflowers will be blooming and as the snow melts in higher elevations, spring takes hold everywhere. Early spring flowers that are finished blooming in the lowlands will have just started blooming in the middle-elevation Pacific Silver Fir forests. The higher-elevation Subalpine Fir woodlands and subalpine meadows typically encompass an entirely different diversity of plants. We will have a good chance at viewing Black Bear at a distance, foraging in the lushest of subalpine meadows at Hurricane Ridge.
