In addition to our day tours from March to October, we also offer private overnight guided birding and wildlife tours to Neah Bay and Cape Flattery from April to October, where we can view Tufted Puffin, Sea Otters, and more.

Hiring a professional birding and wildlife guide for two days might be perfect for a motivated birder, couple, family with nature-loving young adults, or a group of travel companions.

Please contact us us with 2 consecutive days from April to October. Although we can observe more bird species during spring and fall migration, Tufted Puffins are generally only observed over the summer when they are nesting. Email us today at tours@experienceolympic.com.

Our overnight guided birding and wildlife tour to Neah Bay and Cape Flattery allows you extended time with your guide to experience the best (highest number of species recorded) birding location in Washington State.

We will have a chance at hearing and ideally viewing upwards of 100 bird species. Northwest bird species that we will seek out include Tufted Puffin, Marbled Murrelet, Common Murre, Pigeon Guillemot, Heermann’s Gull, Short-billed Gull, Black Oystercatcher, Western Sandpiper, Sooty Grouse, Band-tailed Pigeon, Rufous Hummingbird, Black Swift, Violet-Green Swallow, Chestnut-backed Chickadee, Pacific Wren, Black-throated Gray Warbler, and many more. We will learn about the Makah people and experience why their home in Neah Bay is so special.

Please plan to spend the night prior your tour in or around Port Angeles. Plan to reserve overnight lodging for you and Carolyn in Neah Bay or Sekiu on Day 1. Please try Butler's Motel in Neah Bay as Nancy feeds the birds and rare birds are often observed in or around the adjacent wetland - 360-640-0948.

Day 1 – Start at dawn from Port Angeles. Bird Hurricane Ridge, Lake Crescent or Salish Sea en route to Neah Bay. Check into our lodging. Visit the Makah Museum (open until 5 PM). Spend the evening at Cape Flattery. Overnight lodging and food based on your budget and interests.

Day 2 – Explore Cape Flattery again (if we need more time there), Hobuck Beach, Makah Passage Road, Neah Bay town and bay, Salish Sea or Lake Crescent, and Ediz Hook in Port Angeles. Tour ends around dinner time in Port Angeles.
