In addition to our private day tours from March to October, we also offer private overnight guided tidepooling and rainforest tours from April to September to the Pacific Coast or the Salish Sea and the Hoh Rainforest, where we can view Sea Stars, Roosevelt Elk, and more.

Hiring a former marine biology teacher for two days might be perfect for a couple, family with nature-loving young adults or a group of travel companions.

Please contact us with an approximate two week window that would work for your party from April to September. Not all days will have low tides that are timed well, so we'll work together to find the best dates for your tour. Email us today at tours@experienceolympic.com.

A two-day guided tidepooling and rainforest vacation allows you extended time with your wildlife guide to experience some of the best tidepooling and rainforest exploration in the Pacific Northwest.

Tidepooling can be described as the act of finding and learning about intertidal organisms that live in the intertidal zone and can be seen from land during a low tide. These organisms include sea stars, anemones, coraline algae, hermit crabs, tidepool sculpins, chitons, and nudibranchs. Besides pools of water in rock or sand, the sides of large boulders are often a refugia worth investigating as well because vertical surfaces are a safe zones from foot traffic and the Sun.
